Within the next week or two, UW is going to be making it's first round of acceptances for the math department. Discuss and share averages here if you're one of the students shooting for a round one acceptance into a math department program!

Good luck!

McMaster Business I admission question!

Anonymous
6 replies • Last reply: 7:03AM March 07, 2015 UTC by Daniel Reynolds
Hi!

I applied to McMaster Business 1 and here are my marks:

Law - 95
English - 85
Pre-Calc - 67 (OUCH)
Foods - 96
Chemistry - 74 (OUCH)
Computer Science - 95

Since I'm a grade 12 student coming out of Saskatchewan, I'm assuming they'll take my top 5 marks including pre-reqs which brings my average to 87.4%. I know it's not as good as it could have been, but I was just wondering will this be considered a good enough average? Do they use Foods as a class for the average?

I also applied to Western University Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) so if anyone has input on that I'd really appreciate it :)

Thanks!!

I do have bad learning habits but i am trying to improve im aiaming for a 90 or higher average next year as i want to go into business in uni (queens specifically), is my goal achievable? Could you guys give me tips?

Got my acceptance in the mail today. Funny, I only had an 86% average in grade 12 and my grade 11 marks were nothing to brag about either (87% average I think). My ECEs where horrible too, nothing greater than the average highschool student.

I guess Loo' is going soft this year!

Need tips on how to do well in 4U English

1 reply • Last reply: 7:03AM March 07, 2015 UTC by Anonymous
Hello, I am seriously concerned about my current English mark. In order to get the 90+ average scholarship for my university offer, I need at least a 77 in English. However, my current mark is only 76. I am already trying my best by spending 3-4 hours on English everyday and doing everything I can do. It seems like my English teacher really dislikes my writing style.

Are there any methods to improve writing styles and critical thinking? Also, are there any tips for essay writing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

What do you think the predicted average cut off for the three UofT campuses?
UTSC - ????
UTSG - ????
UTM - ????
Give me a range please. Do you think all three campuses would have the same cut off? I heard UTSG is harder to get into...
Program I applied to is CS

A thread to share and discuss UW Computer Science admission information, potential acceptance dates, academic requirements (including averages), and random questions.

According to previous years, Waterloo accepts a certain amount of applicants during December and January, so if you receive admission, post it!

Hey everyone,

I'm currently at Western in my first year in medical sciences! Feel free to ask me anything about the program, and I'll try to help with anything else academic related.

I'm also living in residence, and I'm residence sophing next year, so feel free to ask me about that as well :)

I'm very involved with the school, so you can ask me about: SAO, residence life, volunteering on/off campus, clubs, council, resources at Western, Oweek...anything!

Chances of UTSC Co-op Computer Science Acceptance?

10 replies • Last reply: 7:03AM March 07, 2015 UTC by Mr Procrasinator
Wondering what my general chances are to make it there. These are my current marks, including this semesters but consider they are not mid-term yet but more of a "quarter term"

ENG4U1 - 81%
MHF4U1 - 80%
AMI4M1 - 97%
AMR4M1 - 97%
Below are all semester 2 marks, so not even mid term yet.
CIA4U1 - 86%
ICS4U1 - 91%
MCV4U1 - 86%
SPH4U1 - 82%

Do you think I'll be accepted in March or in May after mid terms are sent? I had a 86% average in grade 11 if that helps.

Hey everyone!

I saw this thread last year and thought it was worth while to do! For anyone applying to 4 or 2 year programs.

1. Which school(s) are you applying to?
2. What other programs are you applying to as your back up?
3. What average are you aiming for your final year?
EXTRA - I want current Nursing students to be included as well! Tell us where you go, where you applied to and what your GPA in Grade 12 was or post secondary if thats what your doing right now. Also, a few pointers, tips and guidance is always great!

1. I want to go to McMaster (4 year), Queens (4 year or 2 year), Western (2 year), UofT
2. Nursing, and nothing else!
3. I had mid 80's in high school and currently have a 3.1 from Uoft B.A second year

So common guys, reveal yourselves! ;)

I have been accepted to Brock, Laurentian, Ryerson, Carleton, and Guelph for business. I'm wondering what would be the best. I have it pretty much narrowed down to Brock and Guelph for my top choice. Want to know where I should go. After my undergrad I want to go to either law school or an MBA program, I want to know what school would give me the best chance of getting in.

Admission Questions? Ask a Current UBC Student!

346 replies • Last reply: 7:03AM March 07, 2015 UTC by Jasdeep Dhanjal
Hi guys,

I always remember finding this forum really useful back when I was applying for universities in 2012, and I'd like to offer you the opportunity to actually get some hard knowledge about admissions rather than just hearsay. Though I'm in Sauder, I can answer any questions regarding direct entry to all UBC programs, Sauder transfer applications, and general university stuff.

You should all also take a look at the holy grail of UBC admissions, specifically table 18 where all admission averages for all programs for entry in 2013W are outlined.

Hope to see you all at UBC in September!

Do I have a chance at the Medical Sciences program??

0 replies • Posted: 7:03AM March 07, 2015 UTC
I self reported my grades today and I want to know if I have a chance at UWO medical science!
First of all I'm from BC, and they see my top 4 courses. On their website it says they require (recommend) Chemistry 12, Bio 12, AP CALC 12, and English 12 (Physics is recommended but not a prerequisite)

So here are my grades that I sent! (**sign indicates prerequisite courses for medical science program)

- **AP Calculus Ab - 93%
- **Biology 12 - 98%
- **English - 79% (76 is the final but I submitted 79 as an interim mark pretending I haven't received my prov. exam yet. LOL
- **Chemistry 12 - 86%
- Pre Calculus 12 - 91% (They look at Calculus for math since I have it)
- Physics 12 - 87% (don't think it counts for avg.)
- Psychology 12 - 61% (Low but doesn't count as average)
- Philosophy and Religion 12 - 92% (doesn't count for avg)

avg for prerequisite courses / avg for 4 courses (BC REQUIREMENT) - 89% (98+93+86+79)

Do you think I have a chance? Thanks so much!
