Accepted to B.comm, but I did not take any business courses in high school

So I was accepted into the B.comm program at Ryerson University. I did not take any business courses in high school. Would it be a bad decision to choose this program?
The reason I didn't take any business courses is I was leaning more towards biology at first. Then I figured there are better employment opportunities with a B.comm degree as opposed to Bsc, so I applied to Ryerson last minute.
Even my chem teacher told me unless you go into nursing or actually make it into and finish med/dental school, a Bsc degree is useless (you could always go into teaching). He advised me to branch off into the finance strand of the B.comm program (he knows a thing or two about business)...

what do you think?

Business is easy to pick up. You should be fine.
