A photo of Theresa96 Theresa96
Hello, I have apply for Actuarial Science in Waterloo.I have been in Canada for 4 years, so i don't need to have Tofel test.
My Average is 85.33
Mcv:87
MHF:86
Economic:90
International business:94(night school)
Financial security:85
English:70(Dayschool Repeated)
I have took English last year, but only get sixty something, so i repeated it this year,I want to upgrad my mark and improve my English. My school have pretty good reputation and the teacher are marking very hard. There are only a few of students get 80+ in my English class, but i don't want to go to Private school, People said it not teach anythings. will waterloo very care about repeated credit and nightschool credit?
will they deduct my average? Do you think i have a chance get the offer from waterloo?

I do believe Waterloo is one of the schools that penalizes a few percent for repeating courses.

If it reduces my mark, my mark will be not enough. 85 is in the edge of the admission average.

I THINK they do.
Hang on, let me look it up.
Okay, you may be safe.. it's only Engineering that deducts marks..
Although, the site says this..

For all other faculties and programs, including Architecture, each case will be given individual consideration when the admission decision is made.

But I think you'd be okay.
Even with an 84-85.. if your AIF is pretty well done, I think you still have a shot.

Although the viewbook said that the admission average is low 80. last year, one of my friend average is 84, still got rejected.

Viewbooks are so.. general.
And I find that the averages they put in there aren't very realistic.
There's people out there with 90+ averages who get rejected every year.

Yeah, I would think they would.
84 is still pretty good, I think you still have a good shot with that kind of average.

I think I have a BAD case of that.
Been slacking off for the past half month.
But then again, I am on spring break right now, I have a reason to slack off.
