Best school for Political Science

A photo of GuardMTL GuardMTL
Im a Quebec CEGEP graduate going to uOttawa for Joint Honours in Communications and Political Science in fall 2011. The poli sci faculty there is pretty good I've heard only surpassed by Carleton, for undergraduate studies at least.

Which school has the most prestigious undergrad and graduate Political Science faculty in Canada??? As far as government is concerned what schools do they look to for the best/accomplished student graduates?

Thanks for your answers!

Yeah, Jack Layton did his undergrad poli sci there.

if i were taking polisci, i would definitely want to attend ottawa or carleton due to the connections you can make with the government. i mean i'm planning to major in french and feel like a bilingual university would offer me the most benefits, so yeah i would definitely say ottawa would have the most benefits but i guess any school is what you make out of it...you'll certainly have an advantage over someone who goes to school somewhere else if you choose to make those connections.

i applied for polisci only to U of T and Glendon, because i can't afford to go away to McGill or Ottawa or Queens..... i heard Ottawa's program is the best though.
sucks :(

U of T is known for having the best political science department in Canada. McGill and Queens are also very reputable, along with the University of Ottawa and Carleton. Obviously studying poli sci in Ottawa gives you an advantage because there are many internship and co-op opportunities available. I've heard good things about York and Westerns programs as well.

I would suggest UOttawa and McGill. Both have very large and reputable programs. Poli Sci at UO is a large program and there are many specialisations you can do in your undergrad. McGill, I don't know very well, but I hear it is really good.
