Of the things that bother me that don't so much bother other people, I'd say my greatest fear is flying. Completely irrational too. The only reason I hate flying is because of the elevation, yet I only get a little bit fearful when I go up the CN tower and stand on the glass floor and when I sit on the edge of the Grand Canyon. I've never been on a plane before, but I'll have to be quite sedated when I do.

Similar to OP's, my greatest fear is being alone for the rest of my life.

Is that really a fear of yours now, or is that just a fear that you think you'll have in the future?

I'm assuming you're asking me. :P
It's a longggg story, but it's a fear I have now.
I've had it for quite a few years now.
Even though, technically, I'm not "alone" now...
but still.......

I won't ask, but I always wonder that when people say that they fear being alone. Like we're only 17 years old or so (I don't keep count anymore, btw); still lots of life to live, lots of people to meet, lots of time to find that right guy or girl.

Wrong place for this thread but who cares. My biggest fears are failure and death. And marriage.

Failure. Pure and simple. Failure is death.

Hahaha very veryyy true.
But let's just say that I didn't exactly have the best childhood and as a result of that, I have this humongous fear of spending the rest of my life alone.

Having people only accept you for what you can offer and not who you are also propels this fear considerably.

Everyone dies alone. Its impossible for someone to share your subjective experience of death...

My biggest fear is terminal illness.

They're referring to dying "unlovable". Basically, dying friendless.

Been there, dealing with that. :P
It is scary, but once you learn to cope with it, it's not so bad.

The sympathy you'd get would be nice...well at least until you die.

It's nice in the beginning to know that people do sympathize for you.
But after a while, that gets old too and life goes on and you kinda just forget about it.

The biggest fear for me is possibly facing one day the final scientific conclusion (or the concrete objective proof) that there is no soul. If everything is made of materials and if there is no after life, think about it, it is very scary...
