Business or Law?

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
So I am currently in grade 12 and I am considering Laurier, Western, York and (possibly McGill).

I am planning on studying Business Administration. However, I have another option of interest which is  corporate Law.
Truly to me, it comes down to which field would be more profitable.
I heard that even if you do get a law degree it is still extremely hard to become employed in the GTA.
I'm just wondering which route is more ideal and what I could do with those degrees?

There is no definitive answer to your question. Some lawyers graduate from law school and very quickly get a job with a high salary. Others aren’t as lucky. It’s the same with business. Are you planning to specialize in anything for your BBA? Is there a specific career in business you’d like to have? A BBA is very general.

thats another thing I have yet to figure out. I don't know what I would be interested in specializing in yet after my BBA.

With most BBA programs you have the option to specialize in your third year. Just getting a BBA without specializing is kind of like getting a BS without any major/specialization.

You do know that law school is a professional degree, right? You can apply to law school with a business degree.

And I think that is essential to become a good corporate lawyer cause you need to know about the business world too.
