Can I get accepted into Queen's engineering?

A photo of Bradauble Bradauble
I applied to many schools in Ontario, and have currently gotten an acceptance for Ryerson Engineering but am confident ill get accepted into some of the others as midterms just came in. My marks are...

Grade 12 Chemistry: 76
Grade 12 English: 80
Calculus: 90
Advanced Functions: 90
Grade 12 Physics: 70
Morality (mark booster): 94

I spent a lot of time and effort on my PSE and feel like it will make a good impression.
What are my chances in getting accepted, my parents are on my *** hard about this as it is my first choice :P Thanks guys!

For engineering, Queen's takes your Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, and English marks, as well as Advanced Functions, in your case. Your morality mark won't count towards your admission average.

This leaves you with an average of 81.2... which is probably on the low end for Queens, but if your PSE is a good as you say it is i think you have a chance!

Those are prerequisites, they'll take your next highest course to make your top 6 average.

How to be moral.
It's a mandatory religion credit, it's usually an easy 90+ though lol.

Actually I think Queen's uses the same top 5 system as UofT, according to einfo anyway.

Actually, according to Queen's website: http://www.queensu.ca/admission/apply/firstyear/requirements/Program/appliedscience.html

"***Engineering admission average is calculated using only the prerequisite subjects."

U of T uses all 6 courses. They only list the 5 courses in einfo because the heading is "Ontario Secondary School Prerequisites". All the other U of T programs are listed the same way (i.e. for computer science, the only courses under that category are MCV4U1 and ENG4U1).
Also,

Unless we're not talking Ontario..awks...

I know people with low 80s that have gotten in - I also know people with low 80s that have gotten waitlisted until after June 1st (all of said people decided to go to Queen's engineering). So, I would say wait it out, because even though it's top 5 its not impossible :)

In 2010 (the most recent data), 13.2% of accepted students to Queen's engineering had between an 81 and an 84% average:

The bigger question is why do you want to do engineering if your lowest grade was in physics, with a 70%? I'm not sure that would work well for you even if you do get in.
