Can I still take an online course?

A photo of lowexpectations lowexpectations
K I know this seems pretty late, but I only need one of my marks to increase in order to be guaranteed an acceptance to my first choice program. Right now, MHF4U is not included in my top six (because my Data mark is higher) and the online course for it requires 110 hours to complete, which I'm sure I can do before mid-May. So I was wondering, if I'm already taking MHF4U in day school, will they let me take it online?

Btw, on McMaster's website, it says:
"Note: Grades submitted to the University for courses that start after May, 2011 may be too late for either an offer of admission (for September 2011), or to be used to meet conditions of an offer of admission."

So basically, if I start the course right now, and finish it before mid-May, would it be considered in my top six?

Thanks for any input guys! :)

I don't think you can even sign up for online courses anymore.
Way too late I'm pretty sure.

No, I'm pretty sure I can...

Student Enrolment Policy: There is no set schedule for the student to complete the course or to complete assignments. Students start their course the day they register and move through their course at their own pace. The only restriction placed on the student is that the student must complete the course within 18 months. Students will be unenrolled from their course if they take longer than 18 months to complete the course. The decision of the Principal will be considered final in all cases involving student unenrollment.

My main question is whether or not I can register for a course that I'm already taking in school, or if I can only take one that I'm not, because it doesn't specify anywhere.

Oh that's weird.
We can't do that here.

But yeah, you can take it in school and online at the same time I'm pretty sure.

Ahahaha it doesn't take that long.
I'm doing online Math right now.
I signed up in September..
I didn't do anything.
I literally just started last week.
But in a matter of 2-3 days, I finished almost all of the course.
Just have 2 tests left and a final exam.

Is it not semestered there? I had to start mine in February because it was the start of 2nd semester.

I don't think you'd have time to finish it. When I did mine last year the max modules i could submit a week were 2. I think there was 20 total. So I guess in theory you could (since you need ten weeks) - but sometimes modules are really long and take a while... And then there's complications when the teachers are unavailable for a while and you get get help/tests so then you get behind.

It might be really hard to catch up now because there are dropboxes/discussions that have already closed for assignments and etc.

Are you in Ontario? Because I just double checked TCDSB and TDSB, none of them offer any Math courses :(.

I'm getting screwed over by this. My psychotic counsellor will not sign the form for Bio 12 online, because I took it in FIRST semester.

I'm at a linear school but it doesn't matter for online.
If you're from a semestered school, there's a final at the end of Feb
If you're linear.. there's one in May/June
But I have all year to finish it.

the only thing I would say is that at least for me, there was a maximum number of modules due each week... to explain, I believe it was maximum two for each week but then towards the end of the course, it went down to one per week maximum, meaning students who were really behind would essentially be screwed. i would look into this to see if your school board does the same.
hope this helps! good luck :)

Lucky! I have a strict deadline for all my assignments because the dropboxes close and quizzes expire :(

Ahhh that sucks
I used to have that too at a different online school but I switched so I don't have those strict deadlines.

No. She hates me because I have tended to be a... disruptive influence. I might not even need to do this to keep my 95%. I just need 100% on the math midterm I wrote on friday, and 48/52 on the Chemistry test that I have on monday, and really should go back to studying for.

Plan D is to drop Physics 12 and take it online and speedrun it.
