Elective first-year at UWO

I am currently enrolled in Spanish as my elective. I was looking at entrance requirements at the medical school at Cornell, and it requires I take a writing-intensive course focusing on english (1 semester) and a humanities or social science course (1 semester). I am thinking about switching to English 1027e, is it a hard course? This is coming from someone who did not enjoy grade 12 English at all. I also wanted to take Totalitarianism, but the only time available is a night slot. I know it's too early for me to be worrying about this, but it seems spanish isn't going to help me much in the long run. What would you recommend as an essay course that would fit into category A or B?
