First Year Statistics

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Hi,

I'm a recent second-year transfer student to McGill, and I am taking a first year statistics course (MATH203/MATH204). I am not good at math, and I was wondering if someone would be willing to give me advice about the course. I'm worried that it's going to be too difficult for me (I'm used to the Arts courses) and that I won't do it properly. I need to take the equivalent of a full year's worth of statistics in order to be eligible for admissions to my preferred graduate studies program.

Any bit of help or advice is welcomed!

Thanks!

Stats is very easy, as far as math goes. Most of it is common sense and learning how to interpret when you would use a certain type of test (eg. ANOVA vs. t-test) over another and why. The math in it isn't very hard and it's strictly plug and chug into formulas.

Ah, thank you! That really calms my nerves, especially now that I've had the first class. Hopefully, I'll find it easy/ enjoyable and it won't be that much of a problem.
