Got 2 offers, Consulting with Deloitte and Audit with E&Y. Which one?

Which one should I accept? What is better experience? Both are CA stream, the audit is the traditional stream and consulting is non-traditional.

Any advice is appreciated

I don't think you are going to get any answers here.

The only piece of advice I can give you is that I have heard from CAs that audit is probably the best way to learn and is the most recommended path.

But I would still recommend you talk to someone else.

Congrats on getting two great offers. But I do a few questions. What school are you at? Is this a co-op term? Is this your first co-op term?

You asked a high school thread this question ... great idea.

Good luck though.

I don't think the poster is BS-ing. The same question was posted on the MyCASite forum.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you get your public accounting certification if you go down the consulting route. This is because you don't do have auditing hours.

If you want to be a full-fledged CA with your public accounting certification, then go down the Audit route with EY. You can always switch over to Advisory once you're fully accredited.

You are clearly an idiot. Do you know what audit is? If you did, you would never choose it over consulting with a Big 4 you fool.

This post also shows that you have little knowledge on the matter.

The consulting isn't really consulting. It's Deloitte's ERS.

Assuming this is a coop position,

If your absolutely set on being a CA, then you should take Audit because your going to be with more people your age and enjoy your time there more.

However if you aren't set on being a CA, I believe that it is commonly believed that consulting is a thousand times more interesting, and I would think you could leverage your time there to get a position at one of the big consulting firms.
