In one of my problems, I got the answer 5.61111111 (1 repeated). I somehow need to convert this into fraction but don't know how... Help please? Thanks :)

What was the question itself? You can't give us the answer and ask how you got it LOL

LOL my bad... And I think I got the question wrong anyways... here it is.
A line goes through the points (X,7/9) and (4,4) and has a slope of -2. Find X.

so the slope is defined by (y2-y1)/(x2-x1), and you have y2=4, y1=7/9, x2=4, and x1 = X
So just plug everything in so -2 =(4-7/9)/(4-x)
-2 = (29/9)/(4-x)
EDIT: so then multiply both sides by (4-x) so you get -2(4-x)=29/9 (because the 4-x from the bottom cancels out when you multiply it by 4-x)
now divide both sides by -2 so you get (4-x)=(29/9)/(-2) so that becomes 4-x=-29/18
then you just take 4 from both sides so -x = -101/18
so x=101/18
or something like that. lol

How'd you get 29/2 from 29/9? :o But yea... that's what I tried :/ Still getting 101/18 aka 5 11/18

I tried fixing it
But at this point I've just given up on life and plan on enjoying the rest of my march break not doing math

Any line passing through the point (4,4) will have the form y-4 = m(x-4), where m is an arbitrary slope. In this case m = -2. We are looking for the x-value of this line then, when y is 7/9.

y-4 = -2 (x-4) where y = 7/9

7/9 - 4 = -2x + 8

7/9 + 2x = 12

2x = 12 - 7/9

x = 6 - 7/18
= 101/18, which is also 5 11/18

If you are looking to convert repeating decimals into fractions, here is a way to do it.

For one repeating decimal, it is that number over 9. For example, 0.111... = 1/9, 0.222... = 2/9, and so on. You have 5.611111. If you truncate 5.5, you get 0.111... That is equal to 1/9. Thus the answer is equal to 1/9 + 5.5, which can be rewritten as 1/9 + 5/1 + 1/2, adding the three fractions using "grade 10 techniques" you get 101/18, or 5 11/18.

Agreed, at least a third. Gr. 12 Calculus is mostly rates of change of functions at various points.
