High School Class of 2018 Offers of Admission

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Now that school's back in full force and university applications are open, I thought I'd make this application thread so that people can see when people get accepted, where they applied, their averages, etc.

In your post, please include the following:
- Program and post-secondary institution
- Date of application
- Date of offer
- Admission average (Grade 11, Grade 12 first semester- basically whatever was used in determining admission qualifications)
- Province you're applying from
- Any other information you'd like to add

Good luck everyone!!

Nope! I am from Edmonton and I want to keep uni costs down so I'm going to stay here. The plan is to go into pharmacy or med school and those are expensive, so I'm trying to keep my costs minimal. Where are you applying from?

Good luck to you on your applications!

I'm applying from Manitoba!

Well good luck then!
Manitoba is quite far. I was just wondering why you chose u of a instead of other schools in Ontario for example. Hopefully we can be classmates next year

Does it take longer for the u of a to process applicants from other provinces? I'm applying from Saskatchewan and it still says my transcripts haven't arrived even though I sent it 2 weeks ago(I sent an electronic copy not through mail so no delay in the arrival of it).
Congrats!

I'm actually applying to U of A, U of Manitoba, and then Western University and U of T. U of T is my number 1 choice, but it's also expensive so that's why I'm applying to a few others

U of a starts giving out early admissions as soon as the second week in October. It's pretty nice because once  you're accepted, you only need a 70% average to retain the offer.

That's what I was wondering! I was expecting to hear back in January, at the earliest!

Honestly, I love the U of A system letting you apply in October. If you’re over the cut-off you’re automatically in and that relieves a lot of anxiety if you’re an Alberta student. OUAC opens in November

Hey guys, I know this is not related to OP's topic but for all the people currently enrolled or going to Health Science programs, what are some tips you would give to a grade 12 student who will soon be applying to universities. If you can also mention the university you're currently studying at and your grade 12 average that got you accepted, then it would be of huge help and well appreciated!

Hi! Sorry I saw this late. Mac is like my dream school but also have backups like Laurier, Western, and Waterloo.

Mac Health Science is one of my top choices too. I just started looking at the supplementary app and it looks pretty hard - but I think the whole purpose is just for the school to be able to see how we think, because they want a diversely thinking creative group. Also, I'm not sure if this is just a rumour, but I've heard that if your average is a 90 or above they don't really care what it is, and once they see you've reached the grade requirement they just look at your supplemetary app.

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
That's not a rumour. Apparently once your average reaches the 90% cutoff, your admission is solely based on the supplementary application unless someone scored the same as you on the supplementary. If that happens, they factor in the marks to see who has the higher average.

Anyone know when earliest offers of admission are sent out for the following programs:
Schulich BBA
Queens Commerce
Western Ivey
Rotman Commerce
Laurier BBA and/or BBA Double Degrees
Was this helpful? Yes 0

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Laurier BBA gives the earliest offers in December. No idea about BBA dual degree. For Ivey, Rotman and Schulich expect March-April if your stats are really good. Queen's Commerce decisions are mostly in May.
