How do you switch major first year (UTSC) from Journalism JOINT PROGRAM to Psychology Bsc?

I got accepted to UofT scarborough journalism joint program with Centennial College.
I know it's easy to switch majors, because you don't declare it until the end of first year, but..

It's a joint program, so I'll be taking courses at the college, too. How do I change my major to a Bsc. and get out of that joint program? i know it's possible because a UofT admissions person told me I can change it first year, but how? What are the course requirements to declare a psychology major at UTSC?

I just don't want to complete a year of university, try to declare a psychology major, and find out that I don't have the right pre-req courses to declare a psyc major..

Thanks everyone.

I would contact U of T. Switching majors is typically easy, switching programs is not. You seem like you might be switching programs.

Thanks. That's why I'm worried...because it's two totally different areas of study and I don't know how to do it.

I emailed them and they said, "If you applied to the joint journalism and you get accepted, you can always change your program of study; you can switch to a Psychology major or specialist if you so desire. You are not expected to declare you major/specialist until the end of your first academic year."

I'm just unsure about how to do this if I'm in a joint program and I'll be taking courses elsewhere besides UofT. I might give a call later, but I'm wondering if anyone knows about this.

My average is good enough to get into the psychology bsc. program (>90%) so I hope they'll allow me to switch.. =/

Just putting this out there for people who applied for a UofT program, got accepted, and want to switch:

I was able to switch out of Journalism (which I got accepted to already) by writing UofT a letter of intent to change program...and they approved me by sending me an "alternate offer" letter in the mail!

So it IS possible to change programs once you've been accepted before university starts! lol.
