For example, if I was in BioMed and Ivey AEO and the person I request to be a roommate is also in BioMed, but is in the Scholars Electives program, what is the likelyhood that we be in a room together?

If you have a rooommate you want to room with, you have to request each other when you do the residence questionair during the summer.
I had a friend I wanted to room with so we answered the questionair together so we have the same answers. That most definetly guarentees your roommate.
As for which residence is total luck.

Usually my room is (Very neat 1 -----> Very Messy 5) ___
I prefer to study with background music: Yes/NO
I normally like to go to bed early: Yes/NO
I normally like to get up early: Yes/NO
I am a smoker: Yes/NO
I request a non-smoking roommate: Yes/NO
I abstain from alcohol: Yes/NO
I request a roommate who abstains from alcohol: Yes/NO

And then you rank your residence preferences (#1 choice, #2 choice, etc.)
