I first applied to Waterloo and Queens. But ouac gives me 3 choices so I applied to Toronto as well last week, although I think I should have done another program in Waterloo instead of toronto..

Can't you change it?

hmm can I? I already submitted it more than a week ago. Oh well I'll just keep Toronto just in case..

And too much is when you are smart and have good grades but you apply to like more than 5 just because you think your gonna get rejected to all of them and so the 4 you apply for are all backups. If your actually not sure what to do then I guess you can apply to as many as you want.

Well I thought you could change up until January 12 - or was it Feb 4?

4 or 5 seems like a proper amount to apply to, after that you're spending more than 200 bucks and it seems pretty useless

I applied to 5. I think 3-6 is good, any less is risky and any more is frivolous.

I'd agree with four to five being a good number. I applied to five, two of which were backups and the other three I'd actually want to go to.

I applied to four and yes, it's still possible to add/delete programs to your application :)

Don't worry, I've seen people on this forum apply to 10+. And in the US, many apply to 15+.

I applied to 6....I'm indecisive :|

3-6 is good. My friend applied to 3, just because he knows exactly what he wants to do and is basically guaranteed a spot.

Anywhere from 3-4 is good if you know what you want to do, but as my guidance councellor pointed out - "$40 is a cheap price to pay for peace of mind - I mean, you guys spend that at the movies."

3-6 is a good number. I wouldn't recommend anything less than 3, and if you feel better applying beyond 6, then do what you gotta do haha :)

What if you get one 50 on a test, have a mental breakdown and get rejected from Mac and engineering. Thus causing you to get demotivated and drop your marks. Your U of T life sci gets revoked and you fail at life.

In conclusion, 3 only is playing with fire. :P

I did 3 because I knew where I wanted to go, and knew I'd get in everywhere (applied for arts at UTSG, Queen's, Western).
Everyone else I know did 4+ though.
