I don't think Ill get accepted to commerce

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Queens Commerce is my first choice and my Ecs are really weak!! I didn't realize the important they were for applying to business programs until grade 12.
My ECs are
Treasurer of a youth organization outside of school
I volunteer every week for 4 hours in a hospital gift shop
I might teach kids religion on the weekends.

not sure these are good enough for Schulich or any business school.

Apparently it's basically impossible to get into queens commerce if you aren't a chancellors nominee. So either way, chances are slim regardless of EC's. Work hard on your essays is the best advice I could give ya!

It's not basically impossible, who told you that? If your average is above 87% they look at your PSE to see if they should admit you or not.

^ Yeah. I am confused as to why people have begun to think being a chancellors nominee is the only way to be accepted. two people on my floor are in commerce and neither of them were chancellors nominees.

Chances are slimmer not being chancellor as you are competing for less spots than chancellors and with a greater pool of candidates; that is fact.

Not at all impossible, as I am a first year commie that wasn’t a chancellor.

Ya some other first year commie stated that it's very rare for a non-chancellors to be accepted. I dunno tho...

^ Thats a straight up lie. Either they weren't students there and were just making things up or they do go there and are just trying to scare people/sound smart.

IMO, 75% of this years class are chancellors or some other big scholarship nominee.

-Start a new club from scratch at your school, and lead that.
-That new initiative will beat all your extracurriculars, and give you enough experiences, positions, to talk about in your interview and essays.
