I think I was accepted to Carleton?

A photo of joey4231 joey4231
I'm not sure, I haven't received anything in the mail or an email.

I checked through the site and under one of my applications was:

Application Data
Admission Term: Fall 2011 (September-December)
Admission Type: Current Ontario High School
Application Status: Decision Made
Decision: Admitted with Condition(s)
Current Program
Bachelor of Arts Honours
Level: Undergraduate
Catalog Term: Fall 2011 (September-December)
College: Faculty:Public Affairs
Campus: Main Campus
Major: Pol. Sci: Pub. Aff & Policy
Option: Co-operative Option
Date Created: Jan 04, 2011

And when I check the current offers tab:
Administrative Holds Hold Type From Date To Date Amount Reason Originator Processes Affected
Offer Conditional on Marks Jan 07, 2011 Dec 31, 2099
Admissions

I'm curious about the bolded parts, the "Offer Conditional on Marks". Does that mean they want to see first semester marks before they decide anything?
And what about the date? "Dec 31, 2099" as the expiry date is odd.

This 'offer' also does not show up on OUAC unlike my offer to uOttawa.

EDIT:
I'd call in but they're closed and I'm a bit anxious to know right now.

You need to keep your marks up. Typically your admission average at the end of the year needs to be within 3% of the cutoff. So if your marks drop, they take the offer away.

+1

You'll get something in the mail to go with the offer. It could be something as g93 said, or it could be something like "you need to keep your average above an 80."

Either way, you're in, conditional on something related to your marks. Congrats!

I find my Carleton acceptance confusing as well!
Basically because I can't find what the conditions on my offer even are, or even any details about my acceptance. I'm just going to wait until I get something in the mail from them, since I can't seem to find anything online.
Under the awards section it also said I didn't get a scholarship, which I think is wrong. Seeing how I got $4,000 from Ottawa I definitely should be getting something from Carleton. Again, I'm just going to wait until I get my package in the mail, since everything seems weird online.

Wait, can't you guys check through OUAC? Surely if it's on their site, it would have to be in OUAC in the Choices/Offers tab right?

No it's not. His has a decision made, yours doesn't. Your also has "incomplete items outstanding."

That's beside the point. I'm trying to show you it comes from the same place. With your statement you've proven your sentence above wrong: "the above quote is from OUAC"

If you haven't already gotten an e-mail notification you should get one soon. I think I got accepted on the same day as you and got an e-mail yesterday, Jan. 10th.
