Is it possible to do non-day school courses past midterm?

A photo of Pharger Pharger
Ok, so if i were to somehow not do well in a certain highschool prerequisite course for midterms, such as english, is it still possible to do this course in another way like private school or w/e, and still have Universities look at your application later?
That is you're given the option to drop out of the day school course before they send your midterms to OUAC.

Or is it like whatever you have at midterms, that's when Universities decide everything(acceptance/rejection)? Because if it's like this, a gr12 who drops english cant get any acceptances even if they choose to start taking it in private school or whatever the moment they drop the day school course.

You can't start a new course after mid-terms...Unless your school board is special.
