[What is Habitat Youth Coalition?]
The youth arm of Habitat for Humanity, Habitat Youth Coalition is a new student run committee geared towards educating youth about issues in their communities and motivating them to make a difference. HYC is created and led by students in Toronto who want to make a difference in the community as well as inspire their students to do the same. Through HYC, students come to better understand their communities and poverty housing.

[The Opportunity – HYC Leaders]
Be part of an exciting new initiative along with other student leaders. Habitat is seeking youth leaders (ages 12-25) who are passionate about making a difference in their community. As a HYC member, you will have an opportunity to shape the future of the committee by contributing in the early development of the group. We are currently seeking youth leaders for a variety of different roles, depending on time commitment and experience level. Below is a description of the different opportunities available:

• HYC Outreach Volunteer: Best suited for those who want to be involved with HYC but are not ready to take on a leadership role. Members help build assist with fund-raisers, do presentations at schools, take part in other activities as they wish.

• Sub-Committee Member: Assists the sub-committee chairperson and other sub-committee members in the planning and coordination of various projects.

• Steering Committee Member: For those who want to be more involved in planning events and are willing to commit the time required of the positions. The steering committee is
made up of a chair, co-chair, secretary, treasurer and committee members.
