Leftover OSAP funds, other assets.

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
If someone has a bank account with only leftover OSAP funds from the previous school year, and no other personal assets, would they still have to specify the balance of that bank account on assets portion of the application?

The definition of 'other assets' given by the OSAP application has slightly confused me because it says that the total gross value of one's bank account balances should be specified, but not any OSAP funding one may have.

I'm going to McMaster U in September and asked the financial aid office yesterday about that. They told me that I still have to specify that money in my account even if it is leftover OSAP funds. Is that the right thing to do because I've read in other places that students didn't need to put that on their applications.
