THANK YOU! I'm just going to copy and paste my rant from another topic. So my friends are all super excited to leave high school. When they say "Only six more weeks!" and think about summer I'm thinking about the diploma exams I have to be ready for in six weeks that decide what will happen with the rest of my life! I'm turning 18 in a week and my friends are so excited for that too! What's exciting about paying more taxes and no longer being able to leach off your parents. I seriously know a girl who is being kicked out by her parents the moment high school ends to "teach her responsibility" She will still be 17, can't drive and isn't able to go to university because she'll have to save up her own money (I'm pretty sure she is more worried about finding a place to live though). To add on to that I'm afraid of losing my conditional acceptance to the school I want. If they take it away I'm pretty much out of opinions and the thought of disappointing my parents and wasting their money pains me .So long story short, leaving high school is stressing me out haha.

I TOTALLY FEEL YOU!!!
I'm trying so hard to keep my grades up and I'm still waiting for my dream university to accept me but to find out that I've been wait listed today just kills me so much. I'm excited to leave high school in a sense but at the same time, I'm not. High school to me is a safety net where nothing can go wrong. I don't feel like I'm ready to go out there and face the world everything that comes with it. And on top of that, people who I thought were my friends turned out not to be, one of my favourite teacher on a leave and it feels like everything is going wrong. AND PROM IS COMING UP and it's just so stressful and I can hear my wallet crying already :(( don't worry. I know exactly what you know, and you're not alone.

I hope years from now, all of us would be laughing at how hard we're stressing today.
Cheers and good luck!!

Exactly! High school is my safety net that I never want to leave but at the same time, if I never leave it, I'll never be able to enjoy everything else the world has to offer. Sorry about your friends, If I end up in the school I got conditional, I'll be on the other side of the country so I pretty much won't be seeing my friends anymore (if we even say friends). Kind of sad how you drift away from your friends as you gain different interest. I'm sure you'll make lots of true friends in university. I hope we can both laugh soon! So happy to know I'm not alone!

I really wish high schools helped you more with finding out what job would suit you best. Even though I know what I want to do. I can easily say 50% or more of the  kids graduating with me are talking a year off because they don't know what to do.

It's okay!! Taking a victory lap isn't a bad thing you know that right?

What do you mean by victory lap? If you are talking about when I said "taking a year off" then there might be a misunderstanding. A year off is great if you actually do something, if that means saving up money, retaking/upgrading classes, or just talking a break from all the work you've been doing and going on a large trip. The problem is many people (especially where I live) that take a year off, do nothing and never go back to school/learn a trade or really anything productive. Some end up working at McDonald's for the rest of their life (I should know, when I worked there many of my mangers had "taken a year off" and never went back) So yes taking a year off is great if you use it right.

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Yeah, I've heard of that, alot of people end up staying and keeping their jobs but ultimately, it all depends on you, right? Whether or not you quit your job and continue school the next year or semester// but this is taking a year off LOL

What I meant was that you can return to high school for another year or semester. There really is nothing embarrassing about that despite what others may say. If anything, I think returning to high school is a smart choice to take more interesting courses while bumping up your average. I know a few of my older friends who SETTLED
with the universities that they got into but didn't want to go to and eventually wasted 7k and then dropped. They would tell me they regret not coming back another year or semester.

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
oh, that's what you meant. You're right. There is no shame in that. And it does depend on you. I know for a fact that if I take a year off, I'll do nothing, settle for a boring life and never go back.

Then hopefully knowing that would help push you and motivate you NOT to stay with your job. But either way, it is your decision and I may not know who you are, but I support your decision and hope that you'll be happy doing whatever it is your doing, okay?

Those are just some of the other options but good luck!! :)

Some of us can't even take victory laps because the school's preventing it -.- too much to pay for a few extra courses for grade 13's, can you believe it?

Hated most teachers. Dislikeskids who were douches and thought they ran the school. Had a quite a few friends but only few were close. Was focused before 2nd semester misterms and now now kinda slacking. Will go to mcmaster for buisness or guelph for engineering. Will for sure live on campus first year. Scared to live alone for first time. Still no prom date so I wont go to prom. Idc anyways. WAIT FOR JULY TO COME ALREADY FAM. Oh and I love rap. Like im a hardcore rap fan from old school ro new school. So I am hyped for albums coming out this year. That kanye album tho. Cant wait.

I'm living in residence too! (if I keep my conditional...) I'm more excited than scared to leave home. I've read so many collage/university roommate horror stories on the internet haha . A single isn't an option for me but even if it was I think I would still choose to have a roommate. I might get lonely living alone. I don't have a prom date either but I don't care, I'm just going to go with my single friends.

I'm so glad to be leaving. Honestly, high school is filled with social status and groups and drama and it's gotten really annoying over the past 4 years. I also hate where I live, love my family but I'll be going to live at Guelph, not to close not too far. I have a prom date so that's good, grades are good, I'm feeling confident about university but totally prepared to ask for help (I know I'll need it). Might be rooming with a friend in university...someone let me know their opinion on that??? Do you think it'll hold me back or make me more comfortable? Idk I have so many questions and I don't know who to ask and im scared yet excited for the future. For some reason In my mind, the goals I have for myself are out of reach but maybe that's just a confidence issue. I'm sure I'll do fine

I cannot express how much accurate that blurb about high school was omg #preach
I'm reading this and there are points where you're like "oh no, I can't do it" and points where you're like "yes, yes I can do it". I feel like you're doubting yourself but that's understandable because we're finally leaving and entering an unknown territory. I really truly believe that you CAN DO IT!!!
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF PLEASE, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DO "FINE" YOU'RE GOING TO DO AMAZING, JUST BELIEVE.

& and I'm not doing residence, but I hope that turns out well for you!

best of luck ☻

Highschool summary is pretty accurate.
About rooming with a friend at res, I'll just tell you what I have heard.
Lots of people on YouTube have said that's it's not recommended to room with a friend at university. Your with them all the time and it's not uncommon to totally ruin good friendships simply because you two never got a break from each other. It depends how close to and that person are I guess. Just my point of view.

My boyfriend cheated on me and now I don't have a date to prom. I can't wait to get away from the place I live. Yes, I have friends and family I care about but I knew a change needed to be made so I didn't apply anywhere super close. With relationship drama, stress of finishing up school, getting into the school I want to its all ridiculous lately.

I'm so sorry to hear that your boyfriend would do such a lowly peasant thing :( don't worry you're leaving soon and you're going to meet some other guy at university that will treat you like the queen you are// besides going to prom with friends is going to be so much more fun without all the stress of finding a GOOD prom date LOOLOL

we've all been going through stressful events, don't worry it'll pass by soon. trust me

thank you for asking! I've been accepted into three other universities (YU) but not my dream university (RU for psych) :( I checked online and found out that I've been wait listed, which is extremely heart breaking because I'm THAT close to getting it but not exactly.

But enough about me, I hope you get more acceptances and make your final decision soon!! // getting acceptances is the best feeling ever, if I may add,  they're like the equivalent of winning the lottery

I'll be cheering for you! :D and even if life decides to throw you a curve ball and you don't get in, I'm sure you'll still be hugely successful and achieve everything that you wanted to at one of the other unis you got into. congrats on those acceptances, btw! :)

My friend, if I'm being honest with you guys, there were quite a few so friends would be more accurate :/
but I'll tell you about one of them aha. So this friend of mine, happens to also be my ex. It was weird because I usually hung out with him and his friends and once we broke up, not only did I break up with him but also his group of friends which I found weird LOL. But, idk it's crazy complicated so I'll sum it up. He basically went around telling others how dating me was a complete waste of time and how I was a mistake, immature and whatnot. And people, well some people, will often choose to believe the negative things they hear and this is often demonstrated on the media, they also believed the negative things my ex/friend told them about me and treat me differently. Ever since then, I no longer speak to him nor the others who believed those rumours
It was a hard time for me but I guess better soon than later to find out who your real friends are and are not right?

That's basically it, but thank you so much for asking and caring! You're very kind

I'm literally getting goosebumps, you're just so incredible nice, I really can't.
I really do hope you get into more programs, programs even better than the one that rejected you, programs that can recognize real hard work and intelligence.

And I hope that you'll be happy then :)

And I'll be here for you too if you're ever down and need some cheering up!!

Omg I love this THANK YOU. I'm so happy school is almost over but I'm honestly gonna miss the few people I got close with this year. I'm still stuck between two universities and what to base my decision off of: good university experience or good program. What would you choose? For prom, I really wanted to go with guy but another girl asked him :( I guess it doesn't matter too much cuz I'll still see him at prom but it's still a little different (no cute prom pics, not sitting at the same table) lol I guess it's whatever. I can't believe there's less than 2 months till high school is over!! Wish you the best of luck :)

Personally, I would choose the good program over the experience.  If it's the better program you are more likely to enjoy it more anyway right? 2 months..... I'm going to cry so much at the graduation ceremony. Speaking of which, does anyone else have them in May even though the finals are in June? My school does it that way so we get a good venue. For all they know everyone could fail their diploma exams and none of use really graduate lol. You have to have a current passing grade in all your classes to participate though so I don't think that ever happens.

I'm as ecstatic for high school to end too, but I'm also scared LOL I know exactly what you mean, despite some of the friends I lost, I did make some friends who I absolutely trust so much and adore with all my heart, it makes me sad to know that I won't see them anymore and I hope that we'll keep in touch.
Personally, I would choose a good program, because it is YOU
who chooses to make the best out of that program right? Whether or not you go out and socialize, join clubs etc; (but remember, this is what I personally think and you don't have to do what I think, because it is your life and future right?)

I'm so sorry that the boy you wanted to go with was taken but that doesn't mean you won't be having fun at prom. There are plenty of others to go to prom with and as I said, going with friends isn't a bad thing and it can be super fun! I mean with friends, you won't have to stress about coordinating outfit colours, buying boutonnieres/corsages and so on!  and ofc you can always get pictures with that boy, just go up and tell him "hey, let's take a selfie ;)"

thank you!! I wish you luck and happiness with your future plans and in uni :)

So thank you. And haha you have no idea how much I smiled about the selfie thing! Dw I'm so planning on taking a bunch of pics with him (hopefully his date doesn't get too annoyed lol) Again ur amazing and I wish u the best of luck!!! The offers for the program i wanted to go to went out yesterday and I didn't get an offer. Most likely been rejected don't know for sure just want to know for sure so i don't keep checking it constantly. I have other offers but this one was the one i wanted. Had a 95 average in grade 11 dropped to a 87 in 12 got cocky. Just kinda feel like i messed up when it counted the most

Hey now, don't lose hope so quickly! Maybe it got lost in the mail.. or in your emails inbox (check your junk mail or spams). I'm so sure you're a crazy smart individual (hearing your averages just confirms what I said said LOL)  and if anything, you're probably wait listed like me which isn't a bad thing. Because not everyone will accept the offer they which will leave an empty spot for people who are wait listed.

And I know what you mean, but for me, I skipped alot in grade 11 but luckily I still passed. I truly do regret skipping.
But again, DO NOT LOSE HOPE, OKAY?  remember you always have other options like a victory lap or email the university and tell them if you'll be taking summer school and see if that works out.

You're a bright individual and I believe you can do it okay?!?  ☻

I just wish I get into my first choice! I can't think of going anywhere else for university except for western ivey with aeo! And I don't want to come back to high school for a victory lap and for one my parents wouldn't allow it. I don't what I'm going to do if I don't get it, and I not trying to overdramatic or anything but I'll be crushed if I don't get it. All I do I pray 24/7 hoping for an acceptance. I couldn't care less about prom or anything else  if it meant getting ivey aeo. It been mine and my parents dream for the last two year to got there and my dad wants me to go there so much and I do as well. If I don't get in my dad will be so disappointed and I can't see him look at me like that. I asked him if he would be proud of me if I didn't get in and he said he'll be proud no matter what but I know the happiness and pride he'll feel when or if I get in to ivey will be so much more compared to when I get into another university I applied to

I can completely relate. My parents won't let me take a victory lap either and if I don't make it into my dream school, I just don't know what I'll do. Still, if you believe in your self I'm sure you'll make it in! Never give up hope!

In a perfect world, we'd all get into our first university option and tons of scholarships, but unfortunately such a euphoric world like that does not exist :( I too wish I was excepted into my first choice too.
It sounds like you are under so much pressure and I'm sorry to hear that.
Listen, I really hope that you make into your dream university, but have you gotten a clear response yet?
And I truly believe that your parents will be proud of you no matter what, just breathe a little, you can do it. You really can if you just believe!

I love your determination and I think with just that kind of mindset you have, you can achieve anything.

I'll be praying for your acceptance(s) :)

So I was really sick earlier in the year and I was in the hospital for a week, missed a lot of important things in calc but I thought I caught up well enough, well, I didn't lol and my midterm mark was low 80s when I usually get mid-90s in math. This brought my average down quite a bit and it's right below the cutoff for my dream program, which is an 89. I'm at 88.83 and if I had gotten even 1% higher in any class it would be 89, but instead I'm stuck here stressing like crazy :( I've only been accepted to one other school and I don't even know if I want to go there, plus class enrollment starts really soon, and the nicest res is so popular and will probably be full by the time I accept, which is almost inevitable now, I guess.

The thing is, if I don't get into my dream school now, I'm pretty sure I can get my finals high enough to just take a year off and apply next year, but I don't want to be a year behind my peers and if I don't end up getting in I don't want to delay my life even more because I'm indecisive or scared or whatever. Also, the open house is on this Saturday and I really want to go see residences and the whole campus but I don't want to go if I haven't even gotten in :( It's so hard to have that little sliver of hope left because it's going to kill me when I get rejected. I can't believe my mark was so close to the cutoff and I won't be getting in. My friends who have applied to the program were already accepted, and I even have a family friend going into third year who knows I applied and that I want to go there. My parents know too, and they want me there, and it's going to be so embarrassing when they decline me. I'm so stressed and it's making me crazy! I wish I knew what to do. :(

In the hospital for a week, yet you were able to catch up and obtain an 80? Well buddy, that there is a win in my books.

I can't help but notice that you wrote "when they decline me" meaning they didn't yet, you want to know why? I think it's because they see that you have great potential and along with that, I know how acceptances have been going out already but I'm sure it isn't the last day yet. Try calling them and ask them what the final day that acceptances go out are and try talking to your teachers, you have high marks I bet they wouldn't mind bumping you up a few percentages, I mean teachers are here to support and guide enough, not set us up for failure, at least I hope not LOL (quick story, I remember in grade 11 I had an 78 for world cultures final mark and I asked if my teacher could bump me up a bit and she said she would because she said I demonstrated that I understood alot from the course ad ended up getting an 80 etc etc it makes all the difference that one 80// I know these are grade 12 marks but TRY asking your teachers or speak to your guidance or VP, trust me!!)

If you think about it, would it make much of a difference to be a year late and be able to go to your dream university or be at the same level as your friends but in a university your heart wasn't set on? There is no shame in staying back a year or semester because believe me, in the long run you'll be happy. My friend rushed into a program he didn't want to be in because his marks weren't high enough for his dream program ended up wasting 7k and worked at dollarama. He now quit his job and stays at home. True story, my friend told me this and still regrets his decision in rushing. Your parents and friends won't be ashamed or disappointed in you.

And don't let the pending acceptance stop you from visiting the campus, maybe going there will push you to work even harder for it (is that even possible? I feel like youre working your butt off so much already).

My friend, I feel that same stress that you're also feeling, but come on now, chin up! I believe in you and I know you're going to make it in!! ☻

Good luck with the acceptances and breathe a little, you're doing perfectly fine!!

HEY YOU!
turn that frown upside down LOL no one's perfect and we all mess up sometimes. If only you can see my attendance record and see the many thousands of times I skipped class. What was it that you regret? skipping class? goofing off in class? not studying?
because I gurantee you that doing those things made you happy for a moment in time so that shouldn't be something to regret.
And it doesnt matter that I don't know you, but I have so much faith in you and I believe  that  you can do it and possibly have made it into your two top schools.

but if in any case, you can always try staying back a semester or a year but you know what? I think that's a great option but you don't need it because I truly believe you can do this. There still is time

My best wishes!!

Yes! I completely understand! There are so many times in which I would look back and think "damn, why did I study for the test? why didn't I start my work earlier? or why did I procrastinate?" I mean if I had a dollar for every time I reflected back on my stupidity, well let's say I'd be the next Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg LOOL.

I think that today, you and me both, we need to stop regretting and start doing! Remember all of your regrets and turn them into something to motivate you! Instead of "ugh... I should've studied harder", think "remember the last test/quiz/assignment? it was okay, but let's make it better!"
And don't forget, there is still time!  you could work today to better your next test/quiz/assignment and eventually build better study habits that will reflect on your final exam thus a better final mark or  average!

Remember: work today, better tomorrow

I believe in you and good luck, you can do it! :)

I got in early to my dream program at my dream university! I've got my license, I've got a job, and I'm all set to leave! I cannot wait to get out of my parents' house, sometimes I genuinely feel like I'm the only high schooler who truly has no worries nowadays. I'm not worried about living alone or being independent. The most exciting part is the fresh start I'm going to get. I feel like my life hasn't even begun yet. High school was just a boring, draining experience. All my true friends went to other schools, I could give less of a f*k about prom and HS drama. I am literally counting down the days until summer. My friends and I are gonna have the time of our lives the summer before uni!

I remember in middle school when everyone said high school is the best time of your life. Well if that's true I'm not looking forward to the rest lol

Maybe write out a pros and cons list to both. I also heard that if you flip a coin to decide and you are disappointed with the result, it can show you which choice (in this case program/school) you truly want. Sadly I can't help you with the industry problem but if it makes you feel better, no industry is truly safe or secure. Anything can happen at anytime, you just have to go with it. If it's a job you love I'm sure you'll be fine.

You will get into your first choice and I know you will make the best decision for yourself, I just know it. The previous commenter is absolutely correct, list out pros and cons of all the schools and the coin flipping thing is a genius suggestion LOL have you ever wanted to decided between two things, like for instance going to the mall or staying home to watch netflix, and decided to flip a coin? The coin lands on heads and that means you have to go to the mall but deep down, you're unsatisfied with that decision meaning that all along, your heart was set on netflix.
But, listen to me, there really is no rush! I believe you have until June 1st to submit final decisions and besides, you can also try visiting campuses to taste the atmosphere or do some uni researching and see if that helps. Prom/graduation/ and the next few weeks will not suck if you try making the best of it! Don't just sit and around sulk, go out and have fun! It's your last year, and I highly doubt you'll want to look back and think of all the great memories you made, right? I remember watching a TedTalk and I learned how to "fake it until you are it". It's all in the mind, so think positively!

Good luck, I believe in you! (Remember to have fun and breathe a little, okay? Don't be so hard on yourself)

Has senior year ever drained the life out of you that you feel like killing yourself? Every time someone good happens to me, another bad thing pours in. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I don't like being in this place if constant suicidal thoughts because they freaking SUCK.

Don't do that! Why don't you think of things you are looking forward to after school? Plus it's only a month and a half left. You've finished 99% of high school, I'm sure you can do the rest.

^ I completely agree! There's still so much to life that you haven't seen yet! I'm so sorry about the suicidal thoughts, but I am completely positive that you will get through this and fight the negativity in your life.

If you ever need to talk to someone, I'm always open :)

I won't lie, high school really is a pain sometimes for me too. At times I feel like everything is going to be okay and then two seconds later, life punches me in the throat. And then life sees that I'm on the ground and runs back to kick me in the stomach just for jokes.

But, then something good happens and I'm finally okay again.

Life really is full of ups and downs but, like me, they will make you stronger. So please, listen to me, you are NOT alone because some of the things you are going through, some of us and even myself, have gone through too! And I know you're a super strong person and you can handle so much! I'm sorry that you have been thinking suicidal thoughts, and that makes me so sad. I just want to make you smile and be happy, so know that if you need anyone to talk to, come here and I'll talk to you and everyone else, okay?

REMEMBER, YOU ARE NOT ALONE ☻

best wishes!!

I try so hard to be positive and think of the future but it's so hard when you're put on hold for your first choice university. I pray to god so much to make things easier, but they just seem to be getting worse. I'm up at 3:30 because my thoughts eat me alive all day and all night. It's not that I don't trust God, because I know whatever happens, happens for the best, but it's just so difficult watching everyone get accepted and you're sitting there on a wait list with 2 rejections. My average isn't even low, it's an 89 I don't know where I went wrong.

I understand what you mean because I was put on hold for my first university too, especially if you're like me who only applied to two universities! (What was I thinking?!// but 4 programs in total). You're average definitely is not low at all and if I may add, it is much higher than mine LOL. I'm also sitting around here seeing peers getting accepted into all kinds of unis and programs like, Ted Roger's, Schulich, Queens, U of T and I can't lie.. I'm a tad jealous myself.

You kind of remind me of myself, I bet you're over thinking and of course, your thoughts are eating you alive and you feel like you're drowning, and it's because you're allowing it to happen by creating scenarios in your mind and negative thoughts and so on. But I truly, truly, know you're going to get into a university, but I also want you to know that too and to think that. It's all in the mind, you know?

And, besides, just like what my teacher says, you're going to get in because not every student out there will accept their offers and so there will be space for you!!

I hope you feel better soon and I wish the bestest luck! ☻

I was SUPER shy in grade 9. Luckily, going  into band helped me make lots of friends with people I would never talk to (an evil teacher and a trip to China can really bring people together). I'm still shy with people I don't know but I'm much more open and make friends pretty easily. If there are any clubs at the university I'm going to I am going to join. Do you think you will?

I'm kind of afraid to say since everyone on this forum seems to look down on them but Carleton for Commerce with co-op and concentration in marketing. They were my first choice. I met a representative and fell in love with the school. I applied to U of T and McMaster too but I haven't got a response (I'm pretty sure my grades were too low anyway, I'm not exactly a high 89%-90% student like everyone here seems to be lol)

HEY GUYS,

Things get better after high school, TRUST ME. I had a lot of problems in high school because many of the so-called "cool kids" decided to try and give me a hard time. I worked hard, kept my head down and finished with a decent average. High school is small, immature, filled with drama and the time of druggies, athletes and gangsters. University is our time, my brothers and sisters. I went to university and oh man, things changed. I was suddenly surrounded by hundreds of people and I could pick and choose my friends and acquaintances. I could explore course options, extracurricular activities, became independent, grew as a person, partied, met girls, etc. For those of you having trouble now in high school, HANG ON. Shyt gets better. I completed my undergraduate degree with the highest honours, top of my class, and was accepted into many medical schools in Canada. In comparison, I barely talk to people from high school anymore because most are first year dropouts and simply lack the motivation to succeed in an academic setting. I dislike being surrounded by immature people who judge others and have narrow sets of beliefs. High school is filled with this stupidity where everyone judges, including the teachers and guidance counselors. My guidance counselor told me to go to college. Now, I get treated with the utmost respect by people I meet, those that put me down earlier, would give me looks of awe and jealousy. This is something I hate about society, after you achieve success they decide that you are worth their respect. As if a status symbol of higher education suddenly changes who you are as a human being.

Guys, know that your lives will get better. And for those who love their high school life, know that your lives will also get better. Explore new opportunities but be smart about your finances. Keep a level head and don't party too hard when you head to university. GOOD LUCK!

Thats one of the most motivational speeches I have ever heard on this forum. To quote The Lego Movie, "Man, I am so pumped out!". Ya, I'm a dork XD

WOW. I could've never worded it better. I agree with Anonymous ^. BEST MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH (on this forum) that I've ever heard.

I'm still in high school (junior), and I know exactly what you mean. For now, I'm studying as hard as I can, because I know it's worth it. There are always going to be people who are going to try to make you feel worthless next to them, but I know we're not worthless. I know that we, the ones that work hard, are actually the "cool" kids, not the fake ones walking around, thinking of themselves as the "rulers" of high school.

Thanks for the message. It makes me want to work even harder to achieve even greater success in life. I hope everyone on this thread will get into their dream uni/program and I wish everyone the best of luck in their lives! Remember, you're worth more than you may think! :D

Thank you for this post. It's really motivating me for grade 12. To be honest, I don't really like the people in my school. I only have about 4 true, good friends who get high marks (we call ourselves the "Study-Squad" and study at lunch, and have about a 92 in grade 11). I think in grade 12, I will put in a lot more effort and try to get 95+. There's no point in wasting your last year, there shouldn't be any distractions due to me being really shy and hating all this drama. Also, now I know that university will be much better and all these ignorant and misbehaving kids will get filtered out. Thank you for the motivation, I really appreciate it. Also, finally school will mostly be about getting marks, studying, etc. in university so I am excited about that! Yayyyy, more people who are actually motivated. Also, glad to hear that there is so bashing on universities much in this post. I think SA and Yconic had made me stressed and over-concerned with prestige when it doesn't really matter. What matters is doing something YOU like to do. That is what I am going to focus on now. Again, thanks for the inspirational post. One of the hardest and toughest things to do is to create a tool that empowers others to do something - you have done just that...

I only have an 84% average, however I applied to Waterloo CS & Math, U of T Math, and McMaster CS & Math. I'm aware that an 84% is not very good and that there is a very good chance I won't get in where I applied, but all of my applications are still pending. I just wish they would decide already, I'm alright if they deny me and I have to take a victory lap, but I just want to know, you know?

I know what you mean! You have an 84 and I think that's still something to celebrate because you worked hard for that. It's pending and I'm very sure that that is not a rejection at all, so there is still hope! I admire your mindset, because having the option to take a victory lap is great especially if you're like me and you're kind of not ready to leave yet and at the same time take courses that you've always wanted to take and boost that average!

I wish you the very best luck and I know know know know know know know that you will get accepted into Waterloo or U of T or McMaster, you know???

I feel happy and sad about the fact that high school is ending soon. I honestly can't believe how these 4 years flew by, I know this sounds cliche, but it's true. I love my high school- I honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to go everyday to learn and spend time with friends. I know that I will be balling my eyes out at the end of the year assembly and at graduation( I mean, I'm already tearing up as I type this). There's only a month of high school left and when I walked into school this morning, it hit me hard. I started to feel insanely nostalgic and every time I walked by a particular class or hallway, I got flashbacks that made me realize how far I've come.

wow...that was long, but I just had to express this...

Aw, you poor thing! :(
As I was on the subway with my friend today, he yanked out my earplugs to tell me that he wouldn't see me any more and when I asked him why, he told me that there would be one more month of school and that was when it hit me too. ONE MONTH OR IN OTHER WORDS, THREE WEEKS OF SCHOOL LEFT. I think that's crazy on so many levels because I remember just yesterday, I walked into the a huge building being known as an awkward minor niner, and here I am today, an awkward senior LOOOLOL (I'm kidding... kind of aha LOL). Time really does fly by so quickly!
We have quite different experiences and I'm super glad you had a great and memorable high school experience! My high school experience was super bitter-sweet...

In a way, I can't wait to walk across the stage and here them announce my name and "Class of 2015, we made it!!", but at the same time, I want to go back in time and awkwardly meet my friends, teachers, enemies, janitors... just everyone and struggle solving math equations, fooling around in bio, skipping english... just everything.

Seeing as you almost teared up when you typed that out, I highly doubt you'll lose touch with anyone of your friends, and I hope no one else loses touch with their close friends.

Don't be sad, this really isn't an ending, but it's a new chapter (<---now this is cliche LOL). But you know what I mean, I really hope you make the best out of your future university/college just like in you did in high school, or maybe even better!!

Have a wonderful day :))
(and a wonderful prom if you're going!!)
