Mac or UW?

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
So I have gotten accepted into all my schools and now I can't decide which one I want! There are so many benefits to going to each school. I am choosing between McMaster and Waterloo. Can anyone help me with giving me pros and cons to each school so I can start to figure out where I should go?
Thanks!

Comparing two different programs, from two different schools is hard. Now if they were both LS programs that would be easier, but I'll give you my list:

McMaster Pros:
World renowned
Classic campus
Great diversity in the life science program (lots of specilalization)
Innovative styles of learning (PBL and inquiry, which does exist outside of Health Science)
Hospital/Health Sci center attached to building

Cons:
Bad city (Hamilton is... different than most large Canadian cities)
Big first year program
No first year gaurenteed residence

Waterloo Pros:
The best in Canada for Coop
Smaller program size
Innovative yet still academically oriented
Much nicer location
More spots on res

Cons:
Campus is kind of bland from what I've heard
Not recognized as well as mcmaster internationally
Hard to get involved around school (also heard from someone else)

Consider the program itself more than the school.

What do you specifically mean by big first year program? do you mean the course load?
