McGill new application question

A photo of BrL BrL
I've applied to McGill Commerce and Mech engineering programs. However the admissions minima are pretty high and thus I want to apply to a backup option.
First, will they to consider and accept another application?
Also, may they, for example, ignore my first application to the competitive programs and automatically reject it, considering only the second application to the less competives?

btw I have sent an email to the admissions office but they only answer after much time and the admissions deadline is near.

No, you can't submit a second application.

You can apply to more than two programs as long as you pay the fee again.

Thank you for the answers!

I've received an answer from McGill and they say :"You will receive a decision for each application you submit regardless of the outcome of the others."
