I'm going to have a final average of 84 but I'm retaking advanced so I can get a 90 in it :)

and try bumping that 83 to atleast an 84-85 to have a better chance of getting in. Mac gives early offers around february after they recieve your first semester term marks. Also they don't look at grades for each course, they just care about your total final average and as long as it's in the anticipated range :)

Good luck !

These are the classes I already have:

Accounting 94
Data 90
E-commerce (C level) 98
International business 97
Functions 94
English 87

I anticipate a low 90's average next semester
I haven't received any offers yet though (it's the end of Jan 2011)
Your chances of getting in are average. I'd say don't get your hopes up TOO high but definitely don't loose hope. You're about the mark cut-off. Don't worry if you don't get early acceptance :)

EDIT: I was accepted based on grade 11 marks

My friend got early acceptance to this program a week or so ago, but she had like a 96ish average last year and finished advanced functions with a 96 as well last year so it's understandable. I didn't get early acceptance though, and I have like a 93 from the three grade 12 courses I finished....

Don't bother, you'll likely get in with an 85% average, unless your aiming for some sort of scholarship that requires a higher average, don't retake

For mcmaster they just care about your overall GPA which includes pre requisites in your top six, and they don't look specifically at individual marks. I'll be getting around 70ish in advanced as well, however I'm retaking for the sole purpose of achieving the 3000 dollar scholarship :)

My first semester average is an 86.7. What are my chances of getting in once first semester marks are sent to OUAC and how long will it take for me to get an offer.

When did you get your confirmation email from OUAC about your marks being submitted and what did you rank McMaster as?

I applied last year and got in with an 82% average.

The cutoff was 81% and I had to maintain an 80% average after that.

I hope it helps, I didn't end up going since i just decided to work for the year but I re applied with the same marks.

As long as it is above 81 ATLEAST 82 you should be fine.

I took 3 grade 12U classes last year in grade 11 and I had 3 grade 12U classes last semester... I'm doing all of my pre-reqs for Mac and all my other business programs only this semester, though. I got accepted today - these are all my Grade 12 marks:

98% - Yearbook (last year)
67% - Classical Civs (last year)
82% - Media Arts (last year)
94% - Int. Business (first semester)
92% - Bus. Mgmt/Organizational Studies (first semester)
82% - Graphic Design (first semester)

But then I had a few low to mid 80s in Grade 11 that most likely bumped out my 67% there. Either way, I'm excited that I got in! So we're supposed to maintain an 80% average, right?

I applied to McMaster too and I have an 90+ average. I didn't get accepted yet but I think its because I ranked it 7th. A member on the old forum got accepted to Queens and not McMaster. If you rank McMaster low, then they would probably assume you won't go there for sure.
