English provincial exam brought me down from 95% to 90%. I'm not choked, but I am really disappointed.

82?

Initially, I thought I did really poorly as it's an 82 (how dreadful) but a lot of the keeners and smarties in my grade only managed to get somewhere within the mid-60s, low 70s.

Haha so true, all the smart people (originally getting 86-89) got around 70-80 on their provs. I was so surprised I got 94, my class mark was 84. It's a true miracle!

Can anyone speculate on the top 3 average needed for the $2500?

English was 87 for me. Considering that I thought that I bombed it, because I pretty much ignored the topic and wrote about Darwin on the final part, that's pretty amazing.

87 English
86 History (wow... awful)
92 Biology (worse than I thought, also)
75 Math rewrite (didn't do the course for a year)

Well, I got the $1k. Might as well rewrite everything this semester. At least these can't get me denied to UBC.

My chem teacher told me 100%, 100% and 98%+. But he's a bit of a sensationalist...

Did anyone else take the Biology provincial?

Yup. Got 96% =D I was pleasantly surprised.
I got 89% in both Math and Chem, I thought I did better in Math but way worse in Chem.
I would've liked higher but I reached my goal (which was to defend my marks and get the 1k - unis only take the higher of the class or exam anyhow, I just didn't want to look bad), so I'm content.

That's not true.
Only BC uni's will take the higher of the 2.
Unis elsewhere will take the blended.

Definitely checked at all the schools I'm applying to, they take the higher.

I know for sure Queen's, McGill, Western take higher. It's not a big deal.

What are the specifics for the $2500, anyway? I know I'm not going to get it, but the Ministry website seems pretty useless on the subject.

McGill definitely takes the blended mark if you opt to write no matter what, not the higher:

+1!
But I don't know if by saying they're take it into "consideration" means they'll only consider if it raises your mark or they'll actually consider it and use it in your mark.
