Question about OSAP?

A photo of Anonymous Anonymous
Hi everyone,

So I was looking at rules and guidlines for OSAP. It states that you cant make more then $103 per week if you are on OSAP. I was wondering what would happen if you started on OSAP and then later on got a job and started making more then $103 a week? Do you have to call and tell someone or something? Also when I leave for college in Fall 2012 I will be getting my child support cheques from my dad, instead of them going to my mom. Will this affect my OSAP and if so what will happen? Could I still be eligible for OSAP?

You should probably talk to a financial advisor at your school, but from what I know about OSAP, you can earn up $103/week or $1000/semester without losing OSAP. If you go over that then some of your OSAP will turn into an overpayment - the grants will become loans and you might have to pay that back before you can get more OSAP.
