Does anyone have any aspirations for a full ride to Oxford? As for any 4th year university students out there, have any of you been nominated?

Just curious.

That'd be a dream come true. How do you do this Rhodes Scholar, and do you have to wait until the fourth year of university?

To answer your question, that's right you apply for the Rhodes Scholarship in your fourth year of undergraduate study. Its based on your academics, extracurriculars, recommendations and why you want to go to Oxford/what you want to study in graduate school.

Rhodes would be awesome! That's a few years away to think about though.

Out of curiosity, what school do you currently attend XTC?

I was considered for a Rhodes scholarship at UBC and attended an info session, but didn't end up applying this year. Yes, you could be in your last year of undergraduate study, or any year of study in a professional program (i.e. medicine, law). You could even be a year or two out of school and then decide to do graduate school.
Nominations are primarily based on marks first, then universities start to look at your extracurriculars, career ambitions, reference letters, etc. The application is much like the scholarship applications you write in Grade 12, but considerably more extensive!
