Should I be worried?

A photo of TotoSmith TotoSmith
I submitted my AIF and everything to Waterloo over a month ago and they still haven't emailed my math teacher about a reference letter... Does it usually take this long for applicants out of province or should I be worried?

They usually don't contact your reference unless they have something to be concerned about. Don't worry, just be patient.

oh okay I guess it's all good then. Thank you both for your help. I was a little worried because I read from some other thread that they use the reference letter as part of your AIF score for prospective math students.

On a somewhat unrelated note... do you guys know if Waterloo usually makes a decision before May? Because my offer for UofT expires May 1st... Also, what average does one usually need to maintain for final admission to Waterloo honours math?

Thanks again guys!

Accepting the UT offer will not stop UW from submitting an offer. You can accept the UT offer before the deadline. Then, if UW makes you an offer and you want to switch, decline the UT offer on the OUAC web site, then accept the UW offer. Note: the decline old/accept new offer move takes up to 48 hours, so don't wait until the last minute. You cannot accept another offer until the old offer decline is pushed through. You can always phone OUAC for assistance if you're nervous about the move, they will confirm the process and put your worries to rest.

ty, my average after first semester was around 93-95ish. However I did take a couple of grade 12 courses in grade 11 so idk if that played a role, and I applied to UofT for math, hoping to get a Math Specialist.

So I assume you also applied to physical/mathematical sciences? If so, then that's really weird how you haven't been accepted yet because my average is only 86ish haha. Is Waterloo your first choice though?

Waterloo's my first choice lol how about we trade offers? I ranked Innis as my number one. What about you? Are you applying from out of province? And sort of going back to the original post, do you know if the person whom you listed for a reference was asked by waterloo to write a reference letter?
