For the references part, it says: "one of your referees must be a school official". I'm wondering what exactly does "school official" mean? Does a teacher at school count as a school official, or does it have to be my guidance counselor? Because I don't think my guidance counselor knows me very well, and he probably doesn't know all the ECs I'm involved in.

reference 1 can't be a teacher, it has to be a school official (guidance counselor, principal, IB coordinator etc.) Reference 2 can be a teacher.

Thanks for clearing it up for me. So for the second reference should I put a teacher whom I know very well and likes me but not related my ECs or a teacher who is related to my ECs (e.g. band director)?

I put a teacher who knows me really well, not someone related to my Ec's.
