UBC VS QUEEN'S

A photo of Sweet99 Sweet99
I got accepted for both ubc and queen's for general science. I am from Vancouver but don't mind going to kingston.

What school is better (better teachers, first year help, people..ect)

Thanks in advance

i'm obviously strongly in favour of queen's...but...why? my reasons:

1. smaller school; smaller classes; better relationships with pros (perhaps).
2. UBC; too asian man, too asian. (>_>; I'm Asian, and 43% Asians just feel a bit too overwhelming, no?)
3. Harder to get in? :D (In general, it's the 2nd pickiest university, second to McGill.)
4. Queen's have a really supportive community. :D close knit. :D

but it is a bit expensive....=/ yup yup...

I could agree with you on the rest just not #3

Anything ubc is harder to get in than queens, maybe except forestry.

Queens sciences accepted a friend with 85, chances are extremely slim to none with 85 to ubc sciences.

I was also going to echo the above post. Omok's points are valid except for #3. Queen's is difficult to get into, but UBC still has higher entering averages. You hear about people with low 80s getting into Queen's, but my friends with 90 averages are all getting rejected from UBC this year.

The OP's question ("Which has better people") is obviously impossible to answer. They're both great schools, but I chose Queen's because it's smaller, has a nicer campus, and has the better program for me. UBC beats Queen's in any international ranking (if prestige is something you care about), but Queen's fares much better in student surveys. Look at things like cost and extracurriculars too.

I agree with your 4 reasons (other than #3, I just got in with 91%).

What school is better for
-profs
-res buildings
-class sizes

Thanks again
