Don't know about U of T, but I can speak for Waterloo.

First year classes are pretty big. The CS classes are usually about 75, math classes I think can be as large as 200. Unless you take classes at St. Jeromes or do the advanced classes, in which case the sections will be significantly smaller. This was a big draw for me in doing the advanced math.

As you reach upper years, class sizes drop significantly, though it depends on the size of your program. CS courses will expect you to pre-enroll by second year and are pretty strict on class size limits.
