University vs High School

How are tests different in university compared to high school?

For example, I know high school values Communication (written answers, explanations).

But in university, do you still get long-explanation type questions? I can't imagine a professor having to mark 300 of those. Do they just use multiple choice and more knowledge based questions than explanation-type questions?

it depends on the school/program/class sizes. some universities don't have 300 people per class. i've have quiet a few long answer exams in university, but i've also had short answer and multiple choice too. it really doesn't differ when it comes to exams, what does differ is that your more in control of your own learning. theres no one telling you to go to class or to read the chapter.
