URGENT!! Waterloo residence fee deferral?

A photo of peterv peterv
Hi everyone, I know residence + ancillary fees can be deferred. But my question is, can residence fees be deferred? I can't find an answer online.

This would be a more appropriate question for the Housing section of these forums, but I will answer anyhow...

As far as I know, if you don't pay your deposit on time, you lose your first year guarantee.

I would recommend contacting the housing staff to be entirely sure. Their information is here:

From the 2011-2012 contract:

Am I eligible for residence?
To be eligible for residence admission and maintain eligibility for
accommodation throughout your contract, you must meet the
following requirements:
» You must be registered as a full-time student in 1.5 credits in each
4-month term.
» You must have accepted a residence contract and submitted a
$500 non-refundable deposit by the date stated on your contract.
» You must have paid all previous charges for damages, fines, etc.
» You must not have had previous significant behavioural
issues in residence and/or have previously been evicted or
banned from living in a Waterloo Residence. Assessment of
significant behavioural issues is at the discretion of Residence
Life Management.

So that deposit and the date it's due by is important.
