UT Engineering - what's so different about ENGINEERING SCIENCE program?

A photo of color500 color500
In UT Applied Science and Engineering, there are Core 8 Science programs, Track One, and Engineering Science.
I don't see a significant difference between those regular engineering programs and Engineering Science program.
But I found that Engineering Science has a higher admission average.....

So what's so special about it?

Nothing really is special its just harder at least for first year and uoft makes propaganda to try and round up the smartest students.

The program is different in that they look more at theoretical aspects of subjects. For example in line alg most of their first term test was solving three proofs. While in our linear alg last semester we didnt have to prove anything...

The program is meant for people who really love applied and theoretical science. My roomate is in engsci and he is finding it really difficult. Its not that he isnt smart or doesnt try hard, its just that program is meant to be very challenging. Many people are weeded/drop out from the program and usually drop into the core eight or other...

I believe the program is meant for people who wish to go to grad school. IMO if you want to be an engineer you are better off going into the core 8.
