Does it really matter what kids actually think about other kids? Their brains aren't even developed fully yet.

Depends on the private school. There are many reputable private schools that are much better than most public schools (e.g. the ones with rigorous testing standards).

Then clearly they are not a good private school. They are not all created equal. You cannot buy grades at SAC, Appleby and the other higher caliber private schools.

I have never met someone from a private school personally, so how can I judge a group based on assumptions of what I think about what private schoolers are like. personally I don't like stereotypes. So I would have to visit a private school, and even then, that is just one in many.

That your parents think you're too good for the public school system.

That they buy their grades. Basically, you're guaranteed a high mark & it's for people who's desperate or can't handle normal school.

I know someone who had a hard time in gr.11 so they transferred to private school for gr.12 because they were worried about getting into university.
Also, someone else who was worried about not getting a good mark in 1 of their courses, so they took it in private school.

If it is a real private school that happens during the day, meh, I don't get why parents send their kids to those, but I also don't really care.

The private schools that happen after day school that public school kids who aren't capable of hard work, or are just stupid go to irritate me severely. It's not fair that bright kids get rejected because their average was slightly lower than a spoiled brat who took everything in private school. People who say you aren't paying for grades, well then tell me: Why on earth are you taking private school courses at all, public school is free. I think universities should stop taking these credits. Hopefully the people who take private school struggle enough they just drop out. Unfortunately this only happens for difficult programs like Engineering, the brats in Business get away with it.

So yes, we think you are too stupid to handle day school, are spoiled and immature and that we are better than you because we are. (I'm referring to people who take private school outside of school because public school is too hard for them). Apply to universities in your league.

If you are referring to day school private school- ie. Montessori and schools like that. I have met people who go there, they are nice and all but aren't as social in general. I feel like they are less exposed to things that they should be before entering university with all the other kids who have been exposed. This probably depends on which school you go to though.

^ lol just because the parents pay for their education doesn't mean that they are less capable than you. In fact it doesn't affect you whatsoever the matter of fact is that public school kids are jealous of the $$ private school kids have. If you are that much intellectually superior than me then why didn't you provide any evidence to back up your claim? "We are just better than you, face it." <---where is your premise or on what grounds are you saying this? In fact you are so stupid that i really don't think it would be worth it to argue with you

Private school kids are annoying af. They should just work harder in day school like everyone else does. They can't be going far with that sort of attitude

OMG yay lets roast pschoolers here. I am so annoyed they always try to wean their way into the good schools, when in reality these people are so waste they're lucky to get into a school at all. Ik a guy at my school who has a spare when I have a spare. He spends the whole time roasting university, proud of the fact that he got into Rotman, even though he took 3+ courses pschool. He said: Ryerson is waste everyone gets in there. If you really have brains you wouldn't go there. He really doesn't deserve an opinion

How common are private schoolers? I've never met anyone at my school who private schooled marks. Judging from this website though it seems like a lot of kids do it.

It's really common at "hard" schools in big cities. A lot of kids at my school do it, especially for math because they find math here too hard. You probably know people but if there aren't too many they don't talk about it because they will be considered dumb, reasonably so. At my school, it's so common, especially among people who want to do business programs because you need Adv.Func and Calc to get in but the math in uni is soft. English is also common amongst kids who suck at that.

ROAST YES! Good for nothing losers. Inflating admission averages making it difficult for real smart people to get in. Can't think of one good thing to say about them

I have gone to a private school in South Surrey, BC Canada my entire life. Thirteen years !
I have had a tough time let me tell you. At the start of grade 6 i was getting bullied and it continued until the time i get to graduate this year. I have worked my ass off to get good marks. Let me tell you i don't get good marks, i am one of the lowest in my classes and i have had a tutor for 9 years.  Yes there are a lot of stuck up snotty rich kids, and yes many people complain about how crappy their marks are when they have 97%. For me, i have had a terrible experience in the private school. I have been bullied, worked hard and only got average grades and was forced to be around people that really didn't give a sh*t about me. However the school itself is great. There are a lot of people that aren't very nice but there are also people that come around and are amazing. I'm not rich and i don't pay to get marks. Its hard being in a school with people always complaining. My parents put me in private for me to not only get a good education but to keep me away from the dangers of the outside world, however they found once we got into university we were even more exposed to the outside world. I have three siblings and all three of them graduated with great marks, went off to great schools and graduated with a lot of friends. I'm not like that, im graduating with a friend, going to an okay school because i didn't get in anywhere else and graduating with people that have hurt me. I am strong and in grade 6 i decided to make a bold move and help out a kindergarten teacher with reading to her students. That soon turned into something more and now for a career i want to become a teacher. I hope my story shows that not everyone that goes through a private school has it easy. Not everyone pays for marks and not everyone is stuck up. I want people to get to know me rather than focus on the school i grew up in. I have great morals and im just as good as everyone in a public school. I am a fun, caring and smart girl that has a lot of things ahead of her so don't judge someone surrounding the stereotypes based on their school.

There is nothing wrong with private school as long as it's a REAL private school. The one this thread is about seems to be about the ones handing out credits for money.

I think this is only a problem in Ontario, but here, we have a different sort of private school. This is where you go to somewhere for just one or two classes while you're still taking courses in your normal public school. These schools can often just sell high grades (I've seen some advertisements that said something along the lines of "guaranteed 90 if you pay the full fee before this date".

It's embarrassing and it's a joke, especially since most universities here don't care. I don't think any other province allows students to do something like this.

I go to a private school and trust me, it's hard.  Many people's marks drop by 5-10% once they enter my school (some people's marks actually go UP in university).  True, most people have high marks, but my school has a admission rate <20% and kicks out underperformers.

I don't see why public school kids feel the need to call us spoiled, immature, bratty and stupid.  We don't label you as disrespectful, poor, dumb druggies.  Everyone at my school realizes that they're very lucky to have the opportunities (in terms of academics and extracurriculars) that they do.  Obviously, private school isn't perfect (we have our share of rich snobs, and as a whole are quite sheltered), but neither is public school.

We aren't referring to private school kids who attend their for their entire schooling moron. We are referring to the waste public school/catholic school OR day private school who go out of day school to credit mills( which are also called private schools sadly) to get their credits and sneak their way into university. At THESE private schools you basically pay for your credit. I hate those kids because they are too lazy and arrogant to work but still want to go to high tier programs and are preventing hard working kids from getting accepted.

I have no problem with private school kids who go to a LEGIT private school. Most of the people here don't, they are referring to the cheaters.

There are 2 different types of private schools -- private schools that operate during the same time as public schools (mon-fri, 9-3) and private schools that operate during non-school hours (mon-fri after school hours and weekends).

Private schools that are at the same time as public schools are perfectly normal schools and grades are not inflated. In fact, the most successful students in my business program are from these types of private schools (Crescent/Appleby/Havergal/UCC). However, the private schools that offer select courses during non-school hours are unfair as you simply pay for an easy and high mark.

This is not true. I go to a private school that starts at 8:20 AM and ends at 3:15, and our school deflates grades. No test retakes as well.

Read again that's what the person means. You go to a private day school which doesn't inflate and is fair. The person said out of day school private schools are for rats
