Isn't York better for Arts than Mac?

York has WAY more course selections in Liberal Arts then any other university.

York is also know for their Political Science course, and their Law school.

A bonus is that to make you one step ahead of everyone upon graduation you can choose to complete an iBA (International Bacehlor of Arts) with a major in political science.

This iBA adds a language requirement to your degree, as well as an exchange.

McMaster on the other hand, has a better rep than York, is a much smaller school, so if you prefer this environment then i suggest you go there.

York does have a great Liberal Arts selection as well as their Osgoode law and Schulich business, but people tend to make fun of the school for some reason. You can't go wrong with Mac.

As others have mentioned, York is actually a pretty good school for arts subjects. However it is quite large and is a commuter school.

In my opinion, Mac is known more for its science programs than its arts programs, although it is much smaller than York. Ryerson seems to focus on the programs that they're known for, such as journalism and social work. Like York, Ryerson is a commuter school.

These are cudo stats for mac arts and york by entering averages and they're pretty similar. Waterloo's was significantly higher and Ryerson's also seemed to be somewhat high. Ryerson also has a very low graduation rate for their arts/social sciences with a 59.5% graduation rate.

York Arts
Percent who received an entering average of 95%+ - 0.4%
Percent who received an entering average between 90% and 94% - 3.8%
Percent who received an entering average between 85% and 89% - 12.7%
Percent who received an entering average between 80% and 84% - 24.7%
Percent who received an entering average between 75% and 79% - 31.4%
Percent who received an entering average between 70% and 74% - 24.3%
Percent who received an entering average below 70% - 2.7%

Overall average 78.6%

Mac Arts
Percent who received an entering average of 95%+ - 0.6%
Percent who received an entering average between 90% and 94% - 5.7%
Percent who received an entering average between 85% and 89% - 15.1%
Percent who received an entering average between 80% and 84% - 37.3%
Percent who received an entering average between 75% and 79% - 40.8%
Percent who received an entering average between 70% and 74% - 0.6%
Percent who received an entering average below 70% - 0.0%

Overall average 80.9

That's very interesting. But you also have to keep in mind the type of students that choose each school.
